TOEFL PREPARATION



TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) is one way of testing the English language that is used to measure the level of skill or proficiency those who do not use English as their mother tounge (non-native speakers).

A.  Interest TOEFL test.
TOEFL has teo general objectives are : Academic and General.
1.      TOEFL academic goals are for educational purpose, research or related academic activities abroad, or in Indonesia. To graduate, usually a minimum value of 550 shile S1 is 500.
2.      General purpose (general) generally used in the field of employment, promotions or job assignment. Many companies that install the default English employees  to see the value of TOEFL. Generally, a minimum TOEFL score is 500 for the promotion of standards.

Point – a point that must be prepared prior to running the TOEFL exam :
a.       TOEFL is a model that has certain patterns.
b.      Identity forms of commands (direction) in TOEFL
c.       The TOEFL test is not a matter that should be avoided
d.      Learning TOEFL was entertaining and fun
e.       Familiarize your day by reading whatever reading English
f.       Do not breathing limit your reading on a particular theme
g.      The ledge of your time read three sentences in each day
h.      Learning a language is a time consumsing process.

B.     Keys in The TOEFL Test
1.      Key to Listening Comprehesion (public key)
·         Understand the shape-form number command (direction) in each section (past) well before the schedule exam.
·         Read the options on each question as much as possible when the narrator is reading direction and example problems (example).
·         Listen with full concentration and focus your attention on the conversation you are listening.
·         Maximize your listening ability on matters first in each part.

Part A: short conversation
·        Focus your hearing on the second.
·        Do not panic if you can not understand it word for word in a conversation are complete. You only need to capture an idea or the contents of the conversation.
·        If you absolutely can not understand what was said second speaker, choose the best answer is different from what you hear.
·        Understand the forms of expresion funtional agreement, uncertainty, suggestion, surprise, idiomatic, expression, and the situation when the conversation is done.

Part B: longer conversation

2.      Structure And Written Expression (public key)

·       Concentrate for reading text reading.
·       Improve your reading speed.
